Z + Partners offers five core services that work together to help organizations understand and harness change, create powerful ideas and build lasting brands.

Futures Research is the art and science of understanding emerging change. What will your world look like in 2005? 2010? 2015? What can you do to prepare and position for the future? We use scenario planning, trend analysis, forecasting, and other futures tools to build a picture of the possible, probable, and preferred future(s) of your organization, industry or community.

Ethnography is the qualitative, 'field' study of people in their natural habitats. The goal of our ethnographic research is to provide an “insider’s point of view” into the lives of your customers and constituents. Through participant observation, field interviews, and the collection of artefacts, we develop a deep understanding both how and why people interact with your organization and its products and services. By living among your constituents, we look for opportunities to improve their experience.

Positioning is the place you hold in the world. It's at the core of your brand and your identity - both the source and measure of the actions you take and ideas you generate. We shape your positioning by jointly discovering the strengths, weaknesses, values, heritage, culture and emerging future of your company, competition and constituents. We then help you articulate the distinctive, meaningful idea that is that the core of who you are, where you're going, and why you matter.

Ideation is the production of new ideas. Through brainstorming sessions, workshops, and group play, we collaborate with you to create new breakthrough concepts for products, services, and lines of business that reinforce your distinctive purpose and identity.

Design is the key differentiator in today's marketplace. We believe an idea unexpressed is an idea half finished. We help you create powerful experiences and expressions of your brand in every medium.
